- What's a Wiki? A Website with an EDIT Button !


- Who uses wikis? Anyone who wants to build an easy website, and collaborate with others

- What is the difference between a wiki and a blog?
A blog is on ongoing discussion, and is not good for reference materials or long-lasting information
A WIKI can also have discussion areas or groups (See the discussion button, above).
*BUT: A blog CAN be integrated with a Wiki...

What are the things you might use your Wiki for??

  • - A "Family" website, with information and photos for Family and Friends.
    • - Easy for anyone in the family to update and add things to
    • - May be set so only "Invited Guests" can add or change content
    • - COULD be set so only "Invited Guests" can view it
  • - An "Educational" website, with information about a specific class or subject area
    • - Invited Students can enter their own work, text, artwork, photos etc.
    • - A Teacher can comment on student work
    • - Students can collaborate on a project or subject.
  • - Or a simple "School Website"
  • - Or a "Favorite Subject" website, like "Sailing on Lake Champlain"
  • - An INFORMATIONAL Website:

What's the difference between my USER NAME and my Wiki Site??
  • You are a USER of the wikisites.com system
  • You can create one or MORE "Wikis" on wikisites.com
  • You can be a MEMBER of many Wikis, not just ones you created.
